OPTIONS ‘Reflections’ Art and Photography Exhibition Launch
Options Disability Support’s celebrated the launch of the Annual OPTIONS Art and Photography Exhibition at The Art House in Wyong on Thursday 20 November. We were joined by our artists, photographers and their families who enjoyed viewing the stunning Exhibition showcase.
The theme for this year’s Art and Photography Exhibition is ‘Reflections’.
We invited our Artists and Photographers to explore this theme from multiple perspectives.
To REFLECT is to bounce back an image, light, or sound.
Our reflection is what we see in the mirror. Other things that bounce back at us are also reflections — light waves, sound waves, even our thoughts.
The ‘Reflections’ theme presented an opportunity to create artworks and images that demonstrate reflections in different mediums such as water, glass, mirrors, shadows, exploring patterns and utilising lighting and different angles to show unique perspectives.
Reflection can also be a way to contemplate, allowing us to create a pause between our thoughts, memories, emotional responses and actions. Reflection helps us gain perspective, come to terms with events, learn from our experiences and enjoy moments of gratitude. Reflection is about our lived experience, as humans.
Our artists drew inspiration from their feelings, thoughts, dreams, environments and experiences relating to their ‘Reflections’.
Our Photographers have captured stunning images to showcase their photography skills and give us a unique snapshot of ‘Reflections’ of life, events, their surroundings, nature and the beautiful environment of the Central Coast.
All of the artworks and photography were created by people with disabilities. Their increasing technical ability and attention to detail is evident in their representation as the theme ‘Reflections’ is explored and demonstrated from multiple different perspectives.
The ‘Reflections’ Art and Photography Exhibition’ will be on display at The Art House, Wyong until 19 December, 2025 and can be viewed Monday to Friday – 10.00am – 4.00pm.
